REPTO

REPTO - Rear Engine Power Take-Off

Availability:

  • L9
  • L9N
  • X12
  • ISX12N

Applications:

  • Ready mix trucks / concrete mixers
  • Bulk haulers
  • Vacuum trucks
  • Cranes

How REPTO works:

  • Integral part of flywheel housing.
  • Receives power from the engine crankshaft. Rotates in the same* direction as the engine.
  • Available with pump direct-mount option.

*Except for the X12 engine, in which case REPTO rotates in the opposite direction of the engine

REPTO advantages over front-mounted PTOs:

  • No need for extended frame or bumper.
  • Allows extended wheelbase without exceeding length restrictions.

o   Allows more payload under the "Bridge Law."

o   Allows improved maneuverability, visibility and driveability.

  • No need to raise or modify the radiator for PTO shaft clearance. This allows for higher horsepower engines.
  • Permits lower engine speed while maintaining hydraulic pressure, for better fuel economy.
  • Simplified hydraulic system and shorter hydraulic lines for increased reliability.
  • Simplified maintenance - no need to remove REPTO to service the clutch.
  • No chance of PTO damage due to front-end collision.

How REPTO increases GVW under the "Bridge Law:"

Both trucks must meet overall length restriction of 40 ft.

Truck A has front-mounted PTO. This requires use of hydraulic pump mounted in front of cab, which wastes frame length and limits wheelbase to 243 in.

Truck B has REPTO, with rear-mounted hydraulic pump. Entire length of frame is used to allow 264" wheelbase. Additional 21 in. wheelbase allows up to 1,200 lb additional payload.

REPTO Specifications:
